Cool People

A list of people who I think are cool or nice who I know in my life or parasocially. It's meant to be hopecore for humanity because it's important to remember that not everything is horrible all of the time. This is going to take a while and that's ok. This might be more of a poetry page than anything. Who knows, I might even show this to people at a later time. Until then this is basically my version of the unsent project.

Those two ladies

Those two barista ladies who work in the cafe in my dad's office. You are very nice and seem like fun people. I remember seeing you from a young age and I hope you enjoy your jobs because I enjoy seeing you when I occasionally go there.

DMV worker

Thank you to the DMV worker (or volunteer, I don't know how the DMV runs,) who only called me "he" several times even though I'm trans and none of my stuff says that. You had no reason to do that or no way to really know, but thank you, even if you said it as a mistake. People like you make me feel better about living in a world which is often times against people like me. You also just seemed like a kind person.

Boy at Heathrow airport

I think you were some varient of British and slightly older than me, but you seemed like the type of person I would be friends with given the chance. Thank you also for calling me a boy, I appreciate that, man. I hope you achieve your goals (which are hopefully good things.)

Fellow in Champaign (Summer of '25)

You're probably a univerity student at U of I and you worked at the Noodles & Company when I went there and you complemented my Holst Planets shirt. I'm guessing you're a musician as well because of that, but I appreciate that regardless.

Australian (?) girl on bus in London

I was super eavesdropping on your conversation for about 20 minutes (sorry) but you were talking about violin (with a fellow aussie?) and I couldn't help but listen. One of you was talking about being a Suzuki student and playing throughout all of high school and I thought that was really interesting because that's the world I'm living in now, minus the Suzuki upbringing. I hope you find a way to get violin back in your life in a postive way.

Jonas

We've technically known eachother since 2025 but didn't really talk until this year. You seem like a really nice guy and I think your piano and violin skills are through the roof. On the last (true) day of camp when you conducted, you clearly found something out about yourself, and I thought that was kinda funny. I don't think you're gonna end up going into physics, man. Maybe we will meet again.

Trans girl on Green Street (Champaign)

I think it was the 6th of July, 2026, when you were talking to this middle-aged guy on the street and you two were concluding your conversaion. Just before you parted I heard you tell him, "Oh by the way, my name is Claire now," (at least I think your name is Claire?) and he was totally chill about it. I wish more cis people accepted us that easily and I wish you a long and happy life.

Thai food man

Since the thai food place in my mall has opened, I have been there three times. The first time you, Mr. Niceperson (I don't know your name,) were working there and you took me and my dad's order. You seemed like you could be the owner of the establishment, but I don't want to assume. You said business had been slow, which made me sad because the fried rice is good and worth walking to the end of the foodcourt for. Anyway, you were very friendly and made my day better. I still look for you every time I go to the mall, but you might not be taking orders anymore since new people have been hired.

Waiters

If you are one of the waiters who says, "and for you, sir?" to me, ily. Don't let the bed bugs bite. You make me feel sooo much better about myself and make things a little easier for people like me. Keep up the good work.

Ruben

hi you are one of the coolest people i know and i hope we get to know eachother better. you're probably never gonna see this.

My choir director

Thank you for being such a good trans ally. I know you are queer, but still. Having teachers support me is one of the top ten things one can experience as a transgender individual.

Classmates who I am not really friends with but still enjoy the presence of

Stay cool and please don't be secretly racist.

sharpie graffiti on wood that says I think of you all the time
