Passenger of Exodus 1, Earthborn

By some miracle, we've all made it here alive.

All 3,628 of us.

(counting the twenty-seven children born aboard.)

Four years gone, just like that.

So we're here now.

I don't know how much longer that fact will stay true, the staying-alive part.

And, not that it was designed to, but our ship- sweet Exodus- could never make it home. Earth.

This is home now.

The storms roll in more frequently now. We hope that it's just a season, monsoons or something, but no one knows.

They only observed KVY-09 long enough to know it had life like ours,

not long enough to track the weather of certain regions.

The council says that we will run out of Earthfood in a little under a month

so people have to start eating plants and the locals

and hoping that it will kill them quickly instead of the alternative.

Contact with Earth has been lost for over a year,

some people are trying to fix whatever wire snapped on the way here

or search for the lost signal.

I think it's no use,

we left for a reason,

no point lingering on the past for too long.
